NHS England is currently consulting on new guidance identifying items which should not be routinely prescribed in primary care. These items include two Dermatology items impacting people with eczema: silk garments and bath and shower preparations. The guidance sets out these items will no longer be prescribed for eczema sufferers and if you already get them on prescription this will stop. EOS have fed into the consultation on behalf of our members because we believe this blanket withdrawal will negatively impact many people with eczema who feel these items are an essential part of their treatment plan.
